Updates!
Crush and his consulting team have ended their run at my company. I knew this day was coming b/c truthfully, I didn't think their work here was really being taken seriously. When our CFO, took a look at the expenses to retain them, he fiscally said, "No more." While it has been fun to have Crush around to keep me entertained and on my toes, it is back to reality and the daily work grind. Whew. At least, I can not stress over cute outfits anymore! Haha. I kid, I kid! :-
In my attempts to jumpstart and add to my on-going self-improvment journey, Col has kindly and supportively offered to be my running mentor. I don't run as exercise. Occassionally, it occurs to me to do it, but it's not a 1st choice. Col has run the NY Marathon upon on others numerous times. She's an excellent motivator and I trust her. We are running every Tuesday night. We started last week and let me tell you that my quads were sore until Saturday!! I threw in 2 pilates classes and one morning, I didn't think I was going to get out of bed! No more than a few hours after our first run, Col sent me an email asking if I would register for a 4 mile Cancer benefit race in Central Park in 2 weeks! While my immediate reaction was, "WHAAA? Did we even run 2 miles?" the next reaction I had was up for the challenge. The last time and ONLY time I've ever done a 'race' was the 5k Race for the Cure in SF.....and I had to "train" for that with Triathalon Girl for like 4 wks! Are you laughing??? I know I can do it, perhaps not a qualifying race times (this race is a qualifier for those who want to run the NY marathon), I am confident that I can keep shuffling along to the finish line. Shit. Now that I think about it, I might need to put the shoes on again and run this weekend.
I continue to dodge political landmines at work. Lately, the SVP has reappeared trying to get me to "side" with her on things with my Fake Boss. It's all so transparent. I'm staying out of this one. I mean, really.....SVP literally ignored me and dismissed me publicly and now when she finally realizes that she allowed Fake Boss to run things amuck, now she wants me to help? Um, no. *eye roll* Deal with it yourself, you are the freaking SVP!!!
I'm headed out to SF for a week the last week of April. No, this isn't just for fun and visiting my peeps! It's for work! My west coast counterpart managed to fanagle me into a project out there with some of our subsidiaries. I'm going to tag on a weekend to see friends, very excited.
More musings soon.
